Lycoming Engine Overhaul Prices
The FAA requires the following parts to be overhauled or replaced for a Lycoming engine to be considered overhauled. If they find the overhauler is not complying with this on any of his engine overhauls, they will give you a phone call saying yours has to be redone, or description of the work changed to repaired and TSMO not allowed to be Zero.

All Items listed in SB 240W must be replaced, the same parts as the factory replaces.
Magnetos, Fuel system, spark plugs, and harness, hoses, Exhaust valves, and guides, Hydraulic lifters, Oil temperature regulator, all stressed and gear bolts, connecting rod bolts and nuts, connecting rods, Magnaflux all steel parts, in addition, we replace the camshaft and lifters with new, also the magnetos with new if Slick. We can convert your Bendix to slick also if that is what you have installed. And we give you a new Logbook. Plus it is required to do an engine run with calibrated gauges. WE then Dynamically balance the engine and propeller together.
There are 2 more options. One is we can call it a Repair and only replace the items that are worn, with this the TSMO continues as it was. This work is priced Labor plus parts as required and is the same price for a prop strike inspection.
